Fancy a stay in one of Tulum’s dreamiest hotels? It’s a no-brainer. Here’s why you should stay at Habitas Tulum next time you visit.
Blending luxury with sustainability, Habitas Tulum is made up of a stunning collection of cliffside huts overlooking the serene Caribbean Sea. If it’s a tranquil escape you’re after, you’ll certainly find it at Habitas.
Ready to discover why you need to stay here? Let’s go.
The Location
Situated in the Hotel Zone, a short hop away from the Tulum Ruins, you’ll find that the location of Habitas Tulum couldn’t be more perfect.
That is, if you can drag yourself out of this gorgeous hotel to explore (and we don’t blame you if you can’t).
The Hotel Zone is actually one of the best areas to stay in Tulum. You’re next to some of Tulum’s best beaches, and there are plenty of restaurants and bars on your doorstep. Not to mention that Tulum’s Archeological Zone is also nearby, teeming with brilliant things to see and do.
Oh, and whatever you do, make sure you check out the Habitas Tulum beach club, situated on Habitas’ private beach.
The Rooms
Reflecting Habitas’ ethos of coexisting with nature, rooms feature materials that leave no impact on the surrounding environment. To be exact, natural palapa roofs, canvas walls, and outdoor rain showers.
The best part? You can choose your view – whether that be facing out onto the glittering Caribbean Sea, surrounded by Tulum’s lush jungle, or a little bit of both (our top choice).
Either way, rooms have been exquisitely crafted. The decor is a fine balance of rustic and luxe – think rich oak furniture, authentic rugs, and extra-large double beds that you’ll be delighted to snuggle into at the end of each day.
Opt for a larger room, surrounded by verdant greenery, and you’ll even get a private pool to enjoy.
The Habitas Experiences
If the excellent location and beautiful rooms doesn’t sway you, perhaps Habitas’ magical experiences might. These are premium packages you can book alongside your stay to transform your trip into the vacation of dreams.
Whether you want to take full advantage of the rich Mayan culture through workshops and art exhibits, seek thrills on an adventure package, or indulge in a total wellness retreat, Habitas has got you covered with a killer line-up of experiences.
We particularly love the Rest & Nourish offering. Start your day with a balanced breakfast that will benefit the mind, body, and soul. Then, enjoy the likes of a cacao ceremony with sound meditation and aromatherapy.
If that all sounds a little bit too laid back for you, the Adventure package sees you visiting Tulum’s Cenotes, Efioling on the sea (electric surfboarding – we had to Google it, too), and spending time at Tulum’s many ruins. This is the ideal option for those looking to immerse themselves in Tulum’s top attractions.
Dining at Habitas Tulum
Moro is Habitas’ pride and joy. And we can see why. A stellar restaurant serving up hearty and wholesome regional meals, with an added Middle Eastern flair. Think smoked pork belly, fresh fish of the day Crudo, and plenty of locally-sourced vegetables.
Wash down with one of Moro’s outstanding craft cocktails – highlights on the menu include the Frida Kahlo, a tasty concoction of Mezcal, orange liqueur, fresh lime juice, pepper, and cilantro, and the punchy vodka-based Caribbean Sea.
This is all to be devoured on low seating (to bring you closer to the earth, of course) and with glass walls so you can enjoy the view of the surrounding jungle while you dine. Is it any wonder that it’s one of the best places to dine in Tulum? We think not.
Habitas Tulum: Practical Tips
- Our top tip is to be organized. Booking your stay well in advance is the difference between paying around £200 per night or upwards of £600 per night for the exact same room. We know what we would rather pay.
